The promise

This is a focused, one-week sprint into the Oracle DBA role. In seven live sessions of 2.5 hours each, you cover the core skills a junior DBA is expected to walk in with: how the database is built, how to start and stop it cleanly, how to protect data with backups, how to manage users and storage, and how to spot and fix the most common problems.

It is built for complete beginners, for application and IT professionals switching into a DBA role, and for students who want a practical head start before a deeper course or a job hunt. You do not need prior Oracle experience — only basic comfort with a computer and a willingness to practise.

By the end of the week you will be able to install and open an Oracle database, run a backup and restore it, create users and assign privileges, read a few key performance views, understand what Data Guard does, and talk confidently about all of it in an interview. It is fundamentals, not the entire job — but it is the right fundamentals, taught the way they are actually used in production.

What learners say

★★★★★

I came in with zero Oracle background and in one week I could install a database, take an RMAN backup and restore it. The pace is fast but the instructor keeps it beginner-friendly. Perfect launchpad before I joined the full 19c track.

Exactly the head start I needed. Seven evenings, real labs every day, and the Day 7 interview prep covered the precise questions I was asked in my screening. Got my first DBA role two weeks later.

I moved from application support into DBA work using this course. The day-by-day structure made it easy to keep up, and the recordings meant I never missed anything. Brilliant value for one week.

Common questions

Do I need any prior Oracle experience?
No. This course is designed for complete beginners and for IT or application professionals moving into a DBA role. Basic comfort with a computer and the willingness to practise daily is all you need.
Is one week really enough to become a DBA?
One week is enough to learn the core fundamentals and become job-ready on the basics — installation, backups, users, storage and an introduction to performance and high availability. It is a fast-track foundation, not a replacement for hands-on experience. Many learners use it as a launchpad before a deeper course like Oracle DBA 19c or the 26ai program.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded and added to your student portal, with lifetime access. You can catch up on any missed day and rewatch sessions as often as you like. Recorded content streams only — there are no downloads.
Will I get recordings and notes?
Yes. You get the recording of each live session plus companion notes and lab exercises, all inside your secure portal, with access that never expires.
